We offer advanced cytogenetic testing to analyze chromosomes and detect genetic abnormalities that may lead to inherited disorders, cancers, and other conditions. The testing that we perform under cytogenetics are: Karyotyping and FISH.
Karotyping
Karyotyping is a test that examines chromosomes to detect abnormalities. At NPL, we do this testing for:
Diagnosis of genetic disorders like Down syndrome, Turner syndrome, and Klinefelter syndrome.
Checking chromosome abnormalities in infertility and recurrent miscarriages.
Identifying genetic changes in blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma.
Assess genetic health in prenatal and postnatal cases.
A small sample of blood, bone marrow, or amniotic fluid is taken and analyzed under a microscope to check for missing, extra, or rearranged chromosomes.
Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) Test:
FISH is an advanced genetic test used to detect specific chromosome changes and guide treatment decisions.
Breast & Gastric Cancer: Targeted therapy selection.
Leukemia: Diagnosis and therapy guidance.
Lung Cancer: Precision medicine identification.
